This bit is also great for cutting flat bottom holes for inserting European hinges or setting a magnet. I think the best part is the center spur allows you to line the hole up perfectly with your mark so you get the exact location every time. There are different types of Forstner bits, but I use the traditional style for woodworking. Just remember when using a large size slower drill speeds are recommended. When drilling go slow and back the bit up often to remove the waste to reduce the heat build-up. Also use a backer board to avoid blow out on the bottom side of the workpiece.
